An order of the minister responsible for immigration sets the list of documents provided for in article L. 311-1 under cover of which foreign nationals may be admitted to France.The admission to French territory of a foreign national holding a visa may be subject to an examination of their fingerprints, for the purposes of comparison with the data recorded in the automated processing system mentioned in 1° of article L….

Any foreign national who declares that he or she wishes to stay in France for a period not exceeding three months is required to present, in order to be admitted to French territory, the visas and documents mentioned in 1° and 2° of article L. 311-1.

When entry into France is motivated by transit, the foreign national is required to provide proof that he/she meets the conditions for entry into the country of destination.
