Article R142-43 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

In application of article L. 313-5, the mayor of the municipality of the place of accommodation or, in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, the arrondissement mayor may, as a State agent, implement automated processing of personal data relating to requests for validation of reception certificates, the purpose of which is to combat abuse of procedure encouraging illegal immigration.
