Subsection 5: Leave

Associate practitioners may take unpaid full-time parental leave to bring up their child, in accordance with the conditions set out in article R. 6153-13.

Family solidarity leave is granted under the conditions set out in articles L. 3142-6 to L. 3142-15 of the French Labour Code and in the regulatory provisions adopted for their application to an associate practitioner whose ascendant, descendant, brother, sister or a person sharing the same home is suffering from a life-threatening illness or is in the advanced or terminal stages of a serious and incurable illness, whatever the cause….

The provisions of articles R. 6153-22 and R. 6153-23 relating respectively to subrogation and affiliation to social security are applicable to associate practitioners.

The associate practitioner may, at his request, be placed on unpaid leave by the director of the establishment to which he is assigned, in the event of serious accident or illness of his spouse, a person with whom he is bound by a civil solidarity pact, a child or an ascendant. The duration of this leave may not, in this case, unless otherwise agreed, exceed one year, renewable once.

Sick leave of more than two months, long-term sick leave, long-term leave, family solidarity leave, parental presence leave and the leave provided for in article R. 6152-927 suspend the completion of the skills consolidation programme or the adaptation course.
