Section 2: Conditions for implementing telehealth

The appropriateness of using telemedicine or telecare is assessed by the medical professional, pharmacist or medical auxiliary.

Each telemedicine procedure or telecare activity is carried out under conditions guaranteeing : 1° a) Authentication of the healthcare professionals involved in the procedure or activity ; b) Patient identification; c) Access by healthcare professionals to the patient’s health data required to perform the procedure or activity; 2° Where the situation so requires, training or preparation of the patient in the use of the telemedicine or telecare system.

The medical professional, pharmacist or medical auxiliary involved in telehealth records in the patient’s file and, where applicable, in the shared medical file defined in Article L. 1111-14 : 1° The report on the telemedicine procedure or activity, or, where applicable, the series of activities, of telecare; 2° The procedures and prescriptions carried out as part of the telemedicine procedure or telecare activity; 3° The patient’s identity and that of…

Organisations and self-employed healthcare professionals organising telemedicine or telecare activities must ensure that the healthcare professionals and psychologists participating in the telemedicine or telecare activities have the training and technical skills required to use the corresponding devices.
