Paragraph 3: The Departmental Director of Fire and Rescue Services

Each departmental or territorial fire and rescue service is placed under the authority of a departmental director of fire and rescue services, assisted by a deputy departmental director. The departmental director and deputy departmental director of fire and rescue services are appointed to their posts pursuant to Article L. 1424-9 and, in overseas departments, after receiving the opinion of the minister responsible for overseas.
