Each year, a national competition for hospital practitioners in public health establishments may be organised, leading to the establishment of a single list of suitable candidates, drawn up by discipline and speciality. The tests consist of an interview with the selection board and an examination, based on the candidate’s portfolio, of qualifications, work and services rendered, outlining the candidate’s career path and professional project. The procedures for organising the tests are laid down by a joint order of the ministers responsible for higher education and health.

A national jury is set up for each discipline or speciality.
