Assistance by a foreign language or sign language interpreter may, where appropriate, be provided by means of telecommunication, in accordance with the provisions of the penultimate paragraph of Article 706-71.
The right of suspected or accused persons to the assistance of an interpreter pursuant to the provisions of this code also applies to persons with speech or hearing impairments.
