Sub-paragraph 2: Provisions specific to entry 4: "paediatric haematology intensive care".

I. – In addition to the equipment mentioned in II of article D. 6124-27-1, the haematology intensive care unit includes at least the equipment required for radiology and ultrasound examinations to be carried out in the unit’s rooms, when this is justified by the conditions of patient care. II. – Where appropriate, rooms are equipped with laminar flow.

The medical team of a paediatric haematology intensive care unit comprises : 1° doctors specialising in paediatrics ; 2° doctors specialising in haematology ; 3° where necessary, specialist doctors required for patient care, particularly in child psychiatry.

The non-medical team of a paediatric haematology intensive care unit includes at least : 1° One state-qualified nurse per four open beds. The team includes at least one state-qualified nursery nurse for every four state-qualified nurses; 2° One nursery assistant or auxiliary nurse for every six open beds; 3° Where necessary, a psychologist, a social worker and staff with biomedical skills. The medical permanence of the paediatric haematology intensive care unit in mention 4° of article R. 6123-34-2 is ensured outside day services, by : 1° The presence on site of at least one doctor with training or experience in critical care; 2° An on-call doctor who is a member of the medical team mentioned in article D. 6124-34-1.
