Paragraph 1 : Cross-sectional imaging equipment used for diagnostic radiology purposes

The holder of the authorisation for cross-sectional imaging equipment has access, within a timeframe compatible with the requirements of continuity and safety of care, to all the equipment needed to perform radiology procedures on his site or, where applicable, on another site by agreement.

I.-The holder of the cross-sectional imaging authorisation has a radiology team comprising: 1° One or more doctors specialising in radiology and medical imaging, who provide radiological care on site; 2° One or more medical electroradiology manipulators, present on site during the patient’s radiological care. The holder of the cross-sectional imaging authorisation must ensure that the equipment exposing patients to ionising radiation has the tools required to optimise radiation protection for patients and staff.

The conditions of care and the protocols for carrying out procedures are adapted to children.

I.-The holder of the cross-sectional imaging authorisation has the facilities required for the equipment to operate correctly, with premises suitable for the proper care of patients, in compliance with the rules of hygiene and asepsis, care safety and protection against ionising radiation. The authorisation holder is subject to the quality assurance obligation set out in I of Article L. 1333-19. The holder of the cross-sectional imaging authorisation must ensure that data from professional practices is collected and analysed with the aim of improving practices and risk management. The authorisation holder must ensure that the equipment is connected to a system for archiving, sharing and distributing examinations, including images, in order to improve the quality of radiological care and the appropriateness of the procedures performed.

The provisions of II of article D. 6124-229 do not apply to the heavy equipment mentioned in article L. 6122-14-1.
