Subsection 3: Provisions specific to bariatric surgery

The bariatric surgery care activity referred to in 3° of the I of article R. 6123-202 consists of the surgical management of patients suffering from obesity by means of surgical procedures set by order of the Minister for Health.

The holder of the “bariatric surgery” authorisation is organised in such a way as to be able to provide each patient with an opinion validating the surgical management, based on multidisciplinary consultation and translated into a personalised care programme given to the patient.

I.-The authorisation to practise bariatric surgery may only be granted, maintained or renewed if the holder of the authorisation complies, on the authorised geographical site, with a minimum annual activity set by order of the Minister responsible for health.
