Subsection 3: Allocation of sums held in the automatic cinema distribution account

The sums entered in the automatic cinema distribution account may be invested with a view to contributing, through the payment of advances, to the financing of the production of long-term cinematographic works for which investment approval has been granted. However, these sums may not be invested in long-term cinematographic works produced by production companies that have not been eligible for production aid in application of article 211-19.

The sums entered in the automatic cinema distribution account may also be invested to cover, on behalf of production companies, other distribution expenses relating to : 1° Long-length cinematographic works for which investment approval or, where this is not requested, production approval, has been granted; 2° Long-length cinematographic works benefiting from production advances after completion; 3° Long-length cinematographic works receiving aid for world cinema; 4° Audiovisual works that have received…

The distribution company guarantees a financial investment taking the form of: 1° In the case mentioned in article 222-7, by the payment to production companies of advances exclusively repayable from the receipts of the work in question; 2° In the case mentioned in Article 222-8, by paying, on behalf of production companies, all or part of the following other distribution expenses:
