Selective financial aid is awarded to support authors’ professional careers by encouraging the conditions in which they create new cinematographic, audiovisual or multimedia works.
Author grants are awarded to one author or two authors working in collaboration.These authors are French nationals or assimilated.
To be eligible for support for authorship, authors must provide proof of:1° Writing or directing a work that has been supported by the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée;2° Artistic experience. The following are considered artistic experience:a) Writing or directing a feature-length film selected at a festival in the ten years preceding the application;b) Writing or directing two short films selected at a festival in the ten years…
Grants for authors are awarded on the basis of the quality, originality, ambition and coherence of the artistic project and the corresponding work plan.
The same author can only receive one grant for an author’s career.
In order to be eligible for support for the author’s career, the project must comply with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013 of 18 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.
