Section 2: Award procedure and conditions

Before making a decision to award a grant, the Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée may call on individuals recognised for their expertise in the conservation, restoration and promotion of film heritage and in digital technologies.

Depending on the artistic and heritage interest of the project, the economic conditions under which it is carried out, the prospects for distribution of the film and the form of aid, the amount of aid may represent up to 90% of the cost of restoration and digitisation.

The aid is awarded in the form of a grant, an advance or both.The choice of the form of aid and any resulting split between grant and advance are determined according to the characteristics of the work, its distribution prospects and the economic conditions under which the project is carried out.The aid is the subject of an agreement concluded with the beneficiary.This agreement sets out the beneficiary’s commitments, particularly with…
