Article 1031 of the French Code of civil procedure

The defendant must notify the plaintiff, within a period of fifteen days, whether or not he intends to make use of the document alleged to be forged.

In the first case, or if there is no reply within the period of fifteen days, the first president shall refer the parties to the court he designates for a ruling on the application for forgery.

Le défendeur doit signifier au demandeur, dans un délai de quinze jours, s’il entend ou non se servir de la pièce arguée de faux.

Dans le premier cas, ou s’il n’est pas répondu dans le délai de quinze jours, le premier président renvoie les parties à se pourvoir devant la juridiction qu’il désigne pour qu’il soit statué sur la demande en faux.
