Article 1233 of the French Code of civil procedure

An extract of any decision opening, modifying the regime or duration of, or terminating a curatorship or guardianship measure concerning an adult or an extract of any decision granting, modifying, renewing or terminating general family habilitation is transmitted by any means to the registry of the judicial court in whose jurisdiction the protected person was born, for the purpose of being kept in the civil register and publicised by mention in the margin of the birth certificate in accordance with the procedures laid down in Chapter III of this Title.

Where the decision is made by the guardianship judge, the transmission is made by the clerk of the judicial court within fifteen days of the expiry of the time limits for appeal.

Where the decision is rendered by the court of appeal, the transmission is made by the clerk’s office of that court within fifteen days of the judgment.

Where a protective measure has ended by the expiry of the time limit set or for a reason other than that referred to in the first paragraph and in Article 494-11 of the Civil Code, notice of this is given by any means and for the same purposes by the clerk of the judicial court, of his own motion or after being referred by any interested party, to the clerk of the judicial court in whose jurisdiction the protected person was born.

Un extrait de toute décision portant ouverture, modification de régime ou de durée ou mainlevée d’une mesure de curatelle ou de tutelle concernant un majeur ou un extrait de toute décision accordant, modifiant, renouvelant ou mettant fin à une habilitation familiale générale est transmis par tout moyen au greffe du tribunal judiciaire dans le ressort duquel est née la personne protégée, à fin de conservation au répertoire civil et de publicité par mention en marge de l’acte de naissance selon les modalités prévues au chapitre III du présent titre.

Lorsque la décision est rendue par le juge des tutelles, la transmission est faite par le greffe du tribunal judiciaire dans les quinze jours qui suivent l’expiration des délais de recours.

Lorsque la décision est rendue par la cour d’appel, la transmission est faite par le greffe de cette cour dans les quinze jours de l’arrêt.

Lorsqu’une mesure de protection a pris fin par l’expiration du délai fixé ou pour une autre cause que celle visée au premier alinéa et à l’article 494-11 du code civil, avis en est donné par tout moyen et aux mêmes fins par le greffe du tribunal judiciaire, d’office ou après avoir été saisi par tout intéressé, au greffe du tribunal judiciaire dans le ressort duquel est née la personne protégée.
