Article 1339 of the French Code of civil procedure

The declaration of renunciation of an inheritance addressed or filed by the heir or notary at the registry of the judicial court shall indicate the surname, first names, profession and domicile of the successor, as well as the capacity by virtue of which he is called to the inheritance.

The registry shall enter the declaration in a register kept for this purpose and shall send or issue a receipt for it to the declarant or notary.

La déclaration de renonciation à une succession adressée ou déposée par l’héritier ou le notaire au greffe du tribunal judiciaire indique les nom, prénoms, profession et domicile du successible, ainsi que la qualité en vertu de laquelle il est appelé à la succession.

Le greffe inscrit la déclaration dans un registre tenu à cet effet et en adresse ou délivre récépissé au déclarant ou au notaire.
