Article 138-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the person under investigation is prohibited from receiving or meeting the victim or entering into a relationship in any way whatsoever with the victim pursuant to the provisions of 9° of l’article 138, the investigating judge or the liberty and custody judge shall send the victim a notice informing him or her of this measure; if the victim is a civil party, this notice shall also be sent to his or her lawyer.

This notice specifies the consequences likely to result for the person under investigation if this prohibition is not complied with.

Article 138-1

Lorsque la personne mise en examen est soumise à l’interdiction de recevoir, ou rencontrer la victime ou d’entrer en relation de quelque façon que ce soit avec elle en application des dispositions du 9° de l’article 138, le juge d’instruction ou le juge des libertés et de la détention adresse à celle-ci un avis l’informant de cette mesure ; si la victime est partie civile, cet avis est également adressé à son avocat.

Cet avis précise les conséquences susceptibles de résulter pour la personne mise en examen du non-respect de cette interdiction.
