Article 1431 of the French Code of civil procedure

The competent court is that of the place where the deed was drawn up or, if the deed was drawn up abroad, that of the place where the claimant lives; if the claimant lives abroad, the Paris judicial court.

Le tribunal compétent est celui du lieu où l’acte a été établi ou, si l’acte a été établi à l’étranger, celui du lieu où demeure le demandeur ; si celui-ci demeure à l’étranger, le tribunal judiciaire de Paris.
