Article 1497 of the French Code of civil procedure

The first president ruling in summary proceedings or, as soon as the matter is referred to him, the Conseiller de la mise en état may:

1° Where the award is subject to provisional enforcement, stay or arrange its enforcement where it is likely to entail manifestly excessive consequences; or

2° Where the award is not subject to provisional enforcement, order the provisional enforcement of all or part of that award.

Article 1497

Le premier président statuant en référé ou, dès qu’il est saisi, le conseiller de la mise en état peut :

1° Lorsque la sentence est assortie de l’exécution provisoire, arrêter ou aménager son exécution lorsqu’elle risque d’entraîner des conséquences manifestement excessives ; ou

2° Lorsque la sentence n’est pas assortie de l’exécution provisoire, ordonner l’exécution provisoire de tout ou partie de cette sentence.
