Article 171-6 of the French Civil Code

When the marriage has been celebrated despite the opposition of the public prosecutor, the consular civil registrar may only transcribe the foreign marriage record onto French civil status registers after the spouses have submitted a judicial release decision.

Lorsque le mariage a été célébré malgré l’opposition du procureur de la République, l’officier de l’état civil consulaire ne peut transcrire l’acte de mariage étranger sur les registres de l’état civil français qu’après remise par les époux d’une décision de mainlevée judiciaire.
