Article 1947 of the French Civil Code

The person who made the deposit is obliged to reimburse the depositary for the expenses he has incurred for the preservation of the thing deposited, and to indemnify him for all losses which the deposit may have caused him.

La personne qui a fait le dépôt est tenue de rembourser au dépositaire les dépenses qu’il a faites pour la conservation de la chose déposée, et de l’indemniser de toutes les pertes que le dépôt peut lui avoir occasionnées.
