Article 211-20 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The total amount of aid granted for the production of a given feature film may not:
1° Exceed 50% of the final production cost of this work and, in the case of an international co-production, 50% of the French participation;
2° Have the effect of increasing the total amount of public financial aid to more than 50% of the final production cost of this work and, in the case of an international co-production, to more than 50% of the French participation.

Le montant total des aides attribuées pour la production d’une œuvre cinématographique de longue durée déterminée ne peut :
1° Etre supérieur à 50 % du coût définitif de production de cette œuvre et, en cas de coproduction internationale, à 50 % de la participation française ;
2° Avoir pour effet de porter à plus de 50 % du coût définitif de production de cette œuvre et, en cas de coproduction internationale, à plus de 50 % de la participation française, le montant total des aides financières publiques.
