Article 211-87 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Direct subsidies are granted to delegated production companies for the creation of a digital subtitling file and a digital audio description file at the same time, and for the adaptation of these files to any digital broadcasting medium to allow quality access to cinematographic works by the deaf or hard of hearing and the blind or partially sighted.

Des allocations directes sont attribuées aux entreprises de production déléguées, d’une part, pour la création concomitante d’un fichier numérique de sous-titrage et d’un fichier numérique d’audiodescription et, d’autre part, pour l’adaptation de ces fichiers à tout support numérique de diffusion pour permettre un accès de qualité aux œuvres cinématographiques par les personnes sourdes ou malentendantes et par les personnes aveugles ou malvoyantes.
