Article 23 of the French Civil Code

Any adult of French nationality, habitually resident abroad, who voluntarily acquires a foreign nationality shall not lose French nationality unless he/she expressly declares this, under the conditions provided for in the articles 26 et seq of this title.

Toute personne majeure de nationalité française, résidant habituellement à l’étranger, qui acquiert volontairement une nationalité étrangère ne perd la nationalité française que si elle le déclare expressément, dans les conditions prévues aux articles 26 et suivants du présent titre.
