Article 230-22 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Personal data that may be revealed by the exploitation of the enquiries and investigations mentioned in 1° of Article 230-20 shall be deleted when the investigation is closed and, in any event, on expiry of a period of three years.

Personal data that may come to light as a result of the investigations referred to in 2° of the same article shall be deleted as soon as the investigation has enabled the missing person to be found or all suspicion of a crime or offence to be ruled out.

Les données à caractère personnel éventuellement révélées par l’exploitation des enquêtes et investigations mentionnées au 1° de l’article 230-20 sont effacées à la clôture de l’enquête et, en tout état de cause, à l’expiration d’un délai de trois ans.

Les données à caractère personnel éventuellement révélées par l’exploitation des enquêtes mentionnées au 2° du même article sont effacées dès que l’enquête a permis de retrouver la personne disparue ou d’écarter toute suspicion de crime ou délit.
