Article 231-34 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Aid for difficult programming is awarded with regard to the quality of the programming of the establishments, the development of their attendance, the quality of the conditions for welcoming the public and showing cinematographic works, and the financial situation of the exhibitor.
The quality of the programming of the establishments is assessed by taking into account their competitive environment during the calendar year preceding the date of the application for aid. The other criteria are assessed, where appropriate, in the light of changes in the situation of the establishments in previous years.

Les aides à la programmation difficile sont attribuées eu égard à la qualité de la programmation des établissements, à l’évolution de leur fréquentation, à la qualité des conditions d’accueil du public et de projection des œuvres cinématographiques, ainsi qu’à la situation financière de l’exploitant.
Le critère de la qualité de la programmation des établissements est apprécié en tenant compte de leur environnement concurrentiel pendant l’année civile précédant la date de la demande de l’aide. Les autres critères sont appréciés, le cas échéant, au regard de l’évolution de la situation des établissements pendant les années précédentes.
