Article 232-16 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Advances on the sums calculated may be granted subject to ceilings. The ceilings are calculated by applying a coefficient to the amount of the sums entered in the automatic cinema exhibition account opened in respect of the establishment concerned during the twelve months preceding the allocation of the advance.
This coefficient is set according to the amount of the tax provided for in the article L. 115-1 du code du cinéma et de l’image animée paid in respect of the establishment in the twelve months preceding the application.
The coefficient is :

– 3 when the amount of tax is less than or equal to €152,000;
– 2 when the amount of tax is greater than €152,000 and less than or equal to €305,000;
– 1.5 when the amount of tax is greater than €305,000.

Article 232-16

Des avances sur les sommes calculées peuvent être attribuées dans la limite de plafonds. Les plafonds sont calculés par application d’un coefficient au montant des sommes inscrites sur le compte automatique exploitation cinéma ouvert au titre de l’établissement concerné pendant les douze mois qui précédent l’attribution de l’avance.
Ce coefficient est fixé en fonction du montant de la taxe prévue à l’article L. 115-1 du code du cinéma et de l’image animée acquittée au titre de l’établissement dans les douze mois qui précèdent la demande.
Le coefficient est de :

– 3 lorsque le montant de la taxe est inférieur ou égal à 152 000 € ;
– 2 lorsque le montant de la taxe est supérieur à 152 000 € et inférieur ou égal à 305 000 € ;
– 1,5 lorsque le montant de la taxe est supérieur à 305 000 €.
