Article 311-18 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The amount of aid for the production and preparation of a given audiovisual work may not exceed 40% of the final cost of that work and, in the case of an international co-production, 40% of the French participation.
The aid may not have the effect of increasing the total public financial aid to more than 50% of the final cost of the work in question and, in the case of an international co-production, to more than 50% of the French participation.

Le montant des aides à la production et la préparation d’une œuvre audiovisuelle déterminée ne peut être supérieur à 40 % du coût définitif de cette œuvre et, en cas de coproduction internationale, à 40 % de la participation française.
Les aides ne peuvent avoir pour effet de porter l’ensemble des aides financières publiques à plus de 50 % du coût définitif de l’œuvre considérée et, en cas de coproduction internationale, à plus de 50 % de la participation française.
