Article 327 of the French General Tax Code

Any still used by an itinerant hirer may not be put into circulation or parked on the public highway, in an unenclosed courtyard or on an unenclosed site not belonging to the owner of the apparatus, without the declaration having been made to the administration seventy-two hours in advance and without the driver being in possession of a circulation permit.

The declaration and the circulation permit must indicate the still’s hallmark number, its capacity, the day on which its circulation will begin and end, and the communes in which it is to be driven.

Tout alambic utilisé par un loueur ambulant ne peut être mis en circulation ni stationner sur la voie publique, dans une cour non fermée ou sur un emplacement non clos n’appartenant pas au possesseur de l’appareil, sans que la déclaration en ait été faite à l’administration soixante-douze heures d’avance et sans que le conducteur soit muni d’un permis de circulation.

La déclaration et le permis de circulation doivent indiquer le numéro de poinçonnement de l’alambic, sa capacité, le jour où commencera et celui où finira sa mise en circulation, les communes dans lesquelles il doit être conduit.
