Article 34 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The Public Prosecutor represents the Public Prosecutor’s Office in person or through his deputies at the Court of Appeal and at the Assize Court established at the seat of the Court of Appeal. He may, under the same conditions, represent the public prosecutor’s office before the other assize courts within the jurisdiction of the court of appeal.

Le procureur général représente en personne ou par ses substituts le ministère public auprès de la cour d’appel et auprès de la cour d’assises instituée au siège de la cour d’appel. Il peut, dans les mêmes conditions, représenter le ministère public auprès des autres cours d’assises du ressort de la cour d’appel.
