The relationship resulting from simple adoption extends to the adopted person’s children.
Marriage is prohibited:
1° Between the adopter, the adopted person and their descendants;
2° Between the adopted person and the spouse or partner bound by a civil solidarity pact of the adopter; reciprocally between the adopter and the spouse or partner bound by a civil solidarity pact of the adopted person;
3° Between the adopted children of the same adopter;
4° Between the adopted person and the children of the adopter.
However, the prohibitions on marriage laid down in 3° and 4° above may be lifted by dispensation of the President of the Republic, if there are serious causes.
The prohibition on marriage laid down in 2° above may be lifted under the same conditions where the person who created the alliance or who was bound by a civil solidarity pact has died.
