Article 450 of the French Code of civil procedure

If the judgment cannot be delivered forthwith, delivery shall be postponed, for further deliberation, to a date to be indicated by the president unless the third paragraph of article 781 has been applied.

He may, however, notify the parties, at the end of the hearing, that the judgment will be delivered by its being made available at the court registry, on the date he indicates unless the third paragraph of article 781 has been applied.

If he decides to postpone delivery of the judgment to a later date, the president shall notify the parties by any means. This notice shall include the reasons for the postponement and the new date on which the judgment will be given.

Article 450

Si le jugement ne peut être prononcé sur-le-champ, le prononcé en est renvoyé, pour plus ample délibéré, à une date que le président indique à moins qu’il ait été fait application du troisième alinéa de l’article 781.

Il peut toutefois aviser les parties, à l’issue des débats, que le jugement sera prononcé par sa mise à disposition au greffe de la juridiction, à la date qu’il indique à moins qu’il ait été fait application du troisième alinéa de l’article 781.

S’il décide de renvoyer le prononcé du jugement à une date ultérieure, le président en avise les parties par tout moyen. Cet avis comporte les motifs de la prorogation ainsi que la nouvelle date à laquelle la décision sera rendue.
