Article 481 of the French Code of civil procedure

As soon as the judgment is handed down, the judge is relieved of jurisdiction over the dispute it resolves.

However, the judge has the power to retract his decision in the event of opposition, third-party opposition or an application for review.

He may also interpret or rectify it under the distinctions set out in articles 461 to 464.

Le jugement, dès son prononcé, dessaisit le juge de la contestation qu’il tranche.

Toutefois, le juge a le pouvoir de rétracter sa décision en cas d’opposition, de tierce opposition ou de recours en révision.

Il peut également l’interpréter ou la rectifier sous les distinctions établies aux articles 461 à 464.
