Article 503 of the French Code of civil procedure

Judgments may not be enforced against those against whom they are opposed until they have been notified, unless enforcement is voluntary.

In the event of enforcement solely on the basis of the original document, presentation of the latter is equivalent to notification.

Les jugements ne peuvent être exécutés contre ceux auxquels ils sont opposés qu’après leur avoir été notifiés, à moins que l’exécution n’en soit volontaire.

En cas d’exécution au seul vu de la minute, la présentation de celle-ci vaut notification.
