Article 505 of the French Code of civil procedure

Any party may obtain from the registrar of the court before which the appeal could have been lodged a certificate attesting to the absence of any opposition, appeal or appeal in cassation or indicating the date of the appeal if one has been lodged.

Toute partie peut se faire délivrer par le greffier de la juridiction devant laquelle le recours pouvait être formé un certificat attestant l’absence d’opposition, d’appel ou de pourvoi en cassation ou indiquant la date du recours s’il en a été formé un.
