Persons who enter into a civil solidarity pact make a joint declaration thereof before the civil registrar of the commune in which they fix their common residence or, in the event of serious impediment to the fixing thereof, before the civil registrar of the commune in which the residence of one of the parties is located.
In the event of serious impediment, the civil registrar shall go to the domicile or residence of one of the parties to register the civil solidarity pact.
On pain of inadmissibility, persons entering into a civil solidarity pact shall produce the agreement made between them to the civil registrar, who shall endorse it before returning it to them.
The civil registrar registers the declaration and arranges for the publicity formalities to be carried out.
Where the civil solidarity pact agreement is made by notarial act, the instrumental notary collects the joint declaration, registers the pact and arranges for the publicity formalities provided for in the previous paragraph to be carried out.
The agreement by which the partners amend the civil solidarity pact is delivered or sent to the civil registrar or notary who received the initial deed in order to be registered.
Abroad, the registration of the joint declaration of a pact binding two partners, at least one of whom is of French nationality, and the formalities provided for in the third and fifth paragraphs are carried out by French diplomatic and consular agents, as well as those required in the event of amendment of the pact.
