Article 529-11 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The notice of contravention provided for by articles 529-1 and 529-8 or the payment notice for the settlement provided for by Article 529-6 may be sent following the discovery of a traffic offence committed using an approved automatic control device. In the event of a complaint being lodged with the police court, the official report or the report of the officer or agent of the judicial police or of the enforcement officer setting out the results of the check is then drawn up. This report may be signed by hand in digital form.

L’avis de contravention prévu par les articles 529-1 et 529-8 ou l’avis de paiement de la transaction prévue par l’article 529-6peut être envoyé à la suite de la constatation d’une contravention au code de la route réalisée grâce à un appareil homologué de contrôle automatique. En cas de réclamation portée devant le tribunal de police, le procès-verbal ou le rapport de l’officier ou de l’agent de police judiciaire ou de l’agent verbalisateur faisant état du résultat de ce contrôle est alors dressé. Ce procès-verbal peut être revêtu d’une signature manuelle numérisée.
