Article 529-9 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The fixed fine must be paid within forty-five days of the offence being recorded or the notice of offence being sent.

The provisions of article 529-2 relating to the request for exoneration and the automatic increase are applicable.

L’amende forfaitaire doit être versée dans le délai de quarante-cinq jours à compter de la constatation de l’infraction ou l’envoi de l’avis de contravention.

Les dispositions de l’article 529-2 relatives à la requête aux fins d’exonération et à la majoration de plein droit sont applicables.
