Article 530-2-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When notices of fines or increased fixed fines are sent to a person residing abroad, the time limits set out in articles 529-1,529-2,529-8,529-9 and 530 are increased by one month.

The provisions of articles 529-10 and 530 of this code and of articles L. 121-2 and L. 121-3 of the Highway Code relating to holders of the vehicle registration certificate are applicable to persons whose identity appears on equivalent documents issued by foreign authorities.

Lorsque les avis de contravention ou d’amende forfaitaire majorée sont adressés à une personne résidant à l’étranger, les délais prévus par les articles 529-1,529-2,529-8,529-9 et 530 sont augmentés d’un mois.

Les dispositions des articles 529-10 et 530 du présent code et des articles L. 121-2 et L. 121-3 du code de la route relatives aux titulaires du certificat d’immatriculation du véhicule sont applicables aux personnes dont l’identité figure sur les documents équivalents délivrés par des autorités étrangères.
