Article 695-17 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the Public Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of the arrest of the requested person, it shall without delay send the Minister for Justice a copy of the arrest warrant transmitted to the judicial authority of the executing Member State.

Where the arrested person is sought for the enforcement of a custodial sentence or detention order and, having been sentenced in his absence, requests that the sentencing decision be communicated to him, the Public Prosecutor, as soon as he is informed of that request, shall forward a copy of the decision to the judicial authority of the executing Member State for delivery to the person concerned.

Article 695-17

Lorsque le ministère public a été informé de l’arrestation de la personne recherchée, il adresse sans délai au ministre de la justice une copie du mandat d’arrêt transmis à l’autorité judiciaire de l’Etat membre d’exécution.

Lorsque la personne arrêtée est recherchée aux fins d’exécution d’une peine ou d’une mesure de sûreté privative de liberté et que, ayant été condamnée en son absence, elle demande que lui soit communiquée la décision de condamnation, le ministère public, dès qu’il est informé de cette demande, transmet une copie de la décision à l’autorité judiciaire de l’Etat membre d’exécution pour qu’elle la remette à l’intéressé.
