Within two days of the arrest of the person claimed, the Public Prosecutor shall notify the latter, in a language he understands, of the documents by virtue of which he has been apprehended. He shall inform the person that he may consent to his extradition before the Investigating Chamber under the simplified procedure. It also informs them that they may waive the rule of speciality. Mention of this information shall be made in the minutes, failing which the proceedings shall be null and void.
The person concerned shall have the right to the assistance of a lawyer under the conditions provided for in the second and third paragraphs of l’article 696-10.
