Without prejudice to articles 706-81 to 706-87 and for the sole purpose of recording the offences referred to in 12° of Article 706-73, identify the perpetrators and accomplices and carry out the seizures provided for in this Code, officers of the judicial police and judicial police officers placed under their authority may, with the authorisation of the public prosecutor or investigating judge hearing the case, who shall give prior notice to the public prosecutor, without being criminally liable for such acts :
1° Acquire weapons or their components, ammunition or explosives;
2° With a view to acquiring weapons or their components, ammunition or explosives, make available to persons engaging in these offences means of a legal or financial nature as well as means of transport, deposit, accommodation, storage and telecommunications.
On pain of nullity, the authorisation of the public prosecutor or investigating judge, which may be given by any means, shall be mentioned or placed in the case file and the acts authorised may not constitute incitement to commit an offence.
