Article 706-136-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When a person convicted in the circumstances mentioned in the second paragraph of Article 122-1 of the Penal Code has not been sentenced to socio-judicial supervision, the sentence enforcement judge may order, on the release of this person, if his condition justifies it and after medical advice, an obligation of care for a period that he fixes and which may not exceed five years in criminal matters or ten years if the acts committed constitute a crime or an offence punishable by ten years imprisonment. The last paragraph of Article 706-136 of this Code shall apply.

Lorsqu’une personne condamnée dans les circonstances mentionnées au second alinéa de l’article 122-1 du code pénal n’a pas été condamnée à un suivi socio-judiciaire, le juge de l’application des peines peut ordonner, à la libération de cette personne, si son état le justifie et après avis médical, une obligation de soins pendant une durée qu’il fixe et qui ne peut excéder cinq ans en matière correctionnelle ou dix ans si les faits commis constituent un crime ou un délit puni de dix ans d’emprisonnement. Le dernier alinéa de l’article 706-136 du présent code est applicable.
