When a death occurs elsewhere than in the commune where the deceased was domiciled, the civil registrar who drew up the death record will send, as soon as possible, to the civil registrar of the deceased’s last domicile, a copy of this record, which will be immediately transcribed into the registers. This provision does not apply to towns divided into arrondissements, where the death occurred in an arrondissement other than the one in which the deceased was domiciled.
In the event of death in health establishments and in social and medico-social establishments for the elderly, the directors shall give notice of the death, by any means, within twenty-four hours, to the civil registrar. In these establishments, a register is kept in which the declarations and information brought to the attention of the civil registrar are recorded.
In the event of difficulty, the civil registrar must visit the establishments to ascertain, on the spot, the death and draw up the death record, in accordance with article 79, on the basis of the declarations and information communicated to him.
