Article 854 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The period provided for by Article 552 between the day on which the summons is issued and the day set for the appearance before the court is at least ten days if the party summoned resides on the island where the court is sitting. This period is increased by one month if the party summoned resides in another island in this territory or in any other place in the territory of the Republic.

Le délai prévu par l’article 552 entre le jour où la citation est délivrée et le jour fixé pour la comparution devant la juridiction est d’au moins dix jours si la partie citée réside dans l’île où siège le tribunal. Ce délai est augmenté d’un mois si la partie citée réside dans une autre île de ce territoire ou en tout autre lieu du territoire de la République.
