Article 916-11 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

In order to encourage cinematographic distribution companies to contribute to the revival of cinematographic production, direct allocations are granted to them in addition to the sums they invest, pursuant to article 222-7, for applications submitted between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2021 when the following conditions are met:
1° The cinematographic works are French-initiated;
2° The cinematographic works have a production cost of less than €8,000,000;
3° The cinematographic works were the subject of an application for investment approval between 1 October 2020 and 30 June 2021.
The amount of the direct allocation is equal to 15% of the amount of the sums invested.
The allocation of direct allocations is subject to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty, in particular those provided for in Chapter I and Article 54 of Section 11 relating to aid schemes for audiovisual works.

Afin d’encourager les entreprises de distribution d’œuvres cinématographiques à concourir à la relance de la production cinématographique, des allocations directes leur sont attribuées en complément des sommes qu’elles investissent, en application de l’article 222-7, au titre des demandes présentées entre le 1er janvier 2021 et le 30 juin 2021 lorsque les conditions suivantes sont remplies :
1° Les œuvres cinématographiques sont d’initiative française ;
2° Les œuvres cinématographiques ont un coût de production inférieur à 8 000 000 € ;
3° Les œuvres cinématographiques ont fait l’objet d’une demande d’agrément des investissements entre le 1er octobre 2020 et le 30 juin 2021.
Le montant de l’allocation directe est égal à 15 % du montant des sommes investies.
L’attribution des allocations directes est soumise aux dispositions du règlement (UE) n° 651/2014 de la Commission du 17 juin 2014 déclarant certaines catégories d’aides compatibles avec le marché intérieur en application des articles 107 et 108 du traité, notamment celles prévues par le chapitre Ier et l’article 54 de la section 11 relatif aux régimes d’aides en faveur des œuvres audiovisuelles.
