Article 99-2 of the French Civil Code

The persons authorised to perform the duties of civil registrars to draw up the acts mentioned in articles 98 to 98-2 may proceed with the administrative rectification of purely material errors and omissions vitiating the statements and mentions affixed to the margin of these acts in accordance with Article 99-1.

Persons authorised to perform the duties of civil registrar for the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons may, under the same conditions, rectify certificates in lieu of civil status records drawn up in accordance with the Code on the Entry and Residence of Foreigners and the Right of Asylum

Article 99-2

Les personnes habilitées à exercer les fonctions d’officier de l’état civil pour dresser les actes mentionnés aux articles 98 à 98-2 peuvent procéder à la rectification administrative des erreurs et omissions purement matérielles entachant les énonciations et mentions apposées en marge de ces actes conformément à l’article 99-1.

Les personnes habilitées à exercer les fonctions d’officier de l’état civil auprès de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides peuvent, dans les mêmes conditions, procéder à la rectification des certificats tenant lieu d’acte de l’état civil établis conformément au code de l’entrée et du séjour des étrangers et du droit d’asile
