Officers of the judicial police assist officers of the judicial police in the performance of their duties, strictly limited to the operations prescribed to them and without being able to delegate to them any of the powers proper to the officer of the judicial police in charge of the investigation.
In addition, the judicial police officers are in particular responsible for enforcing:
1° Coercive measures against defaulting witnesses pursuant to articles 62,109,110 and 153 of the Code of Criminal Procedure;
2° Bail warrants, detention warrants, arrest warrants and committal orders;
3° Sentencing orders and judgments;
4° Judicial restraints.
The judicial police officers listed in articles 20 and 21 do not, under any circumstances, have the power to decide on custody measures.
