Article D15-4-7 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Lorsque la personne mise en examen, pour des faits relevant initialement de la compétence d’un tribunal judiciaire dans lequel il n’y a pas de pôle de l’instruction, par le juge d’instruction d’une juridiction dans laquelle se trouve un pôle est défendue par un avocat, choisi ou commis d’office, appartenant au barreau du tribunal sans pôle, les demandes de mainlevée ou de modification du contrôle judiciaire ou de mise en liberté que cet avocat peut déposer conformément aux dispositions de l’article 148-6 peuvent l’être au greffe du juge d’instruction du tribunal sans pôle. A peine d’irrecevabilité, la demande précise le nom du juge d’instruction saisi de la procédure. Cette demande est constatée par le greffier, qui la signe ainsi que l’avocat, et qui l’adresse sans délai au greffe du juge d’instruction saisi de la procédure.
