Article D210-6 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

A cinematographic work of an advertising nature is one whose content is, directly or indirectly, intended to recommend to viewers the consumption of a product or the use of a service offered to the public.
The mention in the credits of the name or company name of the sponsor of a cinematographic work does not give this work an advertising nature if, in addition, it does not meet the criteria set out in the previous paragraph.

L’œuvre cinématographique à caractère publicitaire est celle dont le contenu est, directement ou indirectement, destiné à recommander aux spectateurs la consommation d’un produit ou l’utilisation d’un service offert au public.
La mention au générique du nom ou de la raison sociale du commanditaire d’une œuvre cinématographique ne confère pas à cette œuvre un caractère publicitaire si, par ailleurs, elle ne répond pas aux critères fixés à l’alinéa précédent.
